Harding Middle School has received the 2016 Making Middle Grades Work Top Performing School Recognition for exceeding all schools nationally on the Southern Regional Education Board 2016 MMGW Student and Teacher Surveys.
Harding Middle School strives to offer a challenging, engaging, and relevant learning environment for students in Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. State of the art classrooms and computer labs, along with rigorous curriculum backed by the Success for All Foundation and John Hopkins University provide for a solid foundation as students prepare for high school and beyond. Extracurricular and leadership opportunities abound in academics, fine arts, and athletics.

History Bee RESULTS!
Five HMS students (Andrew Gresko, Gregory Mamula, Vasille Matzorkis, Kellen Marshall, & Nicholas Nurczyk) advanced to the ACE National History Bee in Atlanta which will be held this June.
Vasille Matzorkis is the 2017 6th Grade Regional Champion!

History Bee Winners
Harding Middle School History Bee Winners will be attending the Regional Competition at West Allegheny Middle School in Imperial, PA on April 6th.

Harding Middle School received an early Christmas gift from one of its alumni recently during a basketball game. Zach Collaros, center, quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, presented the school with a check for $5,000 from his foundation. Collaros, a 2007 graduate of Steubenville High School, organized the Zach Collaros Foundation along with hometown friends Jeff Bruzzese, Mike DiCarlontonio and Sam Busic. Mrs. Ziarko's 6th graders fulfilled the wishes of a hospitalized boy in Cincinnati, OH by making Christmas cards for him.

Daniel Muir - NFL DT #90 - December 8th
Mr. Muir played football at Kent State University where he was a team captain and All MAC in both his junior and senior years. Despite his successful career in college and in the NFL (Packers, Colts, Jets, and Raiders), he didn't always make good life decisions.
He spoke to the students about his life and lessons learned.
Jim "Basketball" Jones Assembly - November 30th
Mr. Jones performed at two assemblies, encouraging students to make positive choices and treat others with respect and kindness. Overcoming his own adversity as a youth made his message powerful while being entertaining.
Students enjoyed his presentation while learning positive lessons.
