Harding Middle School dominated MathCounts at Belmont College as they competed regionally on February 20, 2017.
The students took home 10 out of 12 awards at the competition on. The team of Josh Lahr, Jakob Springer, Dianna Lanaghan, and Josh Feaster was the top team and will compete in the state competition at Columbus State Community College on March 11.
Josh Lahr and Josh Feaster were 1st and 2nd in the countdown round. The countdown round is a head to head competition where the top 8 students of the competition compete without calculators. Four students out of the top eight were from Harding Middle School.
Josh Lahr was the overall 2nd place individual winner in the registered category. In the non-registered category, Aidan Gray and Corryn Lahr were 1st and 2nd top individuals. The team of Aidan Gray, Eli Burgey, Caesen Sutton and Ian Stoll were the top team in the non-registered.
These committed students practice after school for 1 hour, 4 days a week. Julianne Runco is the head coach with Melissa L Bowers as the assistant.
