Gov. Kasich to deliver state of the state address at Wells Academy

COLUMBUS - Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich announced this afternoon he will deliver the annual State of the State address on Feb. 7 at Wells Academy in Steubenville.

Wells Academy is the highest-ranking public elementary school in Ohio, measured by test results, and part of Steubenville City Schools.

It is consistently viewed as one of the best, most innovative elementary schools in Ohio.

Ohio governors deliver the annual State of the State address to a joint session of the General Assembly therefore the General Assembly will pass a Joint Resolution enabling it to convene for the day at Wells Academy, which shares its building and auditorium with Steubenville High School.

2011-12 Elementray Boy's Basketball League

The Steubenville City Schools would like to thatnk the following people for the 2011-12 Elementray Boy's Basketball League.  Coaches Anthony Pierro, Rich Blackburn, Ross Ivkovich, Frank Fuscardo, Mark Bracone, Mike Brown, John Lester, Everett Mitchell, John Johnson, Derahn Brown, and Todd Kelly.  Their time and dedication to our youth is greatly appreciated.

SCS Creating the Opportunity to Learn

     Steubenville City School District has a diverse student body of 2,227, with 29 percent of the students identified as Black and 13.9 percent identified as Multiracial. Moreover, the school district identifies nearly 60 percent of the student population as economically disadvantaged.

Excellent Rating

Congratulations to the Steubenville City School District for receiving an Excellent District Rating on the Local Report Card from the State of Ohio for the third year in a row.  We also want to extend a special congratulations to Garfield East and Pugliese West for receiving the Excellent with Distinction Rating.  Thank you for all of your time and efforts in achieving this rating.
